From My Heart by Dr Neil Hawkes

Our school aims of Communication, Learning, Informed Health and Community serve as statements of intent that support our values.

Hamble Primary School Aims

At Hamble Primary School our aims are based upon the

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and

Oxfam’s definition of Global Citizenship.

Communication

  • to develop children as confident communicators, able to express their thoughts and opinions in the knowledge that they will be listened to. (Article 12)

Learning

  • to provide an educational experience that encourages high aspirations, develops talents and abilities and promotes respect for the environment, with an understanding of how the world works and how they can act sustainably.  (Articles 12, 28, 29   Oxfam Global Citizen)

Informed Health

  • to develop children who are well informed and able to make safe and healthy choices in all aspects of their life, both physically and emotionally, taking responsibility for their own actions.
    (Articles 15, 16, 19, 20, 24, 31, 37, 39  Oxfam Global Citizen)

Community

  • to respect and value the diversity of culture, language and beliefs within both the school community and the wider world, supporting children to participate in and have a sense of their own role as a world citizen, developing an understanding of social injustice.    (Articles 14, 30  Oxfam Global Citizen)

Pupil Voice

Our School Council, Eco-Committee and EARA (Equality and Rights Advocates) group play an important role in ensuring that our vision and values are embodied throughout our curriculum and in how we all live our lives at Hamble Primary School. More information on their roles can be found under the 'Children' tab, then through 'Pupil Voice' on the dropdown menu.
